about

"This song is impressing me lately as one of his best tracks. It owes something to Harry Nilsson - particularly 'Daddy's Song' and 'I'd Rather Be Dead', but Brad puts his own spin on it. The lyrics compliment the music by directly contradicting it, in an odd way. It's a work of almost transcendent cynicism. It'll make you throw up your arms and dance while experiencing existential terror. Check it out. Good stuff."-- David White

lyrics

IF ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE

by Bradley Dean Whyte

I knew a man, a wise man, his wife was mad and mean
They a son, a beautiful son, that she took with her to the state of Missouri
I asked him how do you keep you heart so squeaky clean
And he told me you’ve got focus on the light in between

If all the world’s a stage then I want
More creative control
Too many people playing vultures
Hovering way to low
If only I were dead
Then I wouldn’t feel so miscast in my role
Close the show while I still have a soul
Abodeo-bo-bo

Then there was that girl, that spooky girl who claimed that she loved me
But it was just a word she used for endless craving
inginginginging…
Then I told her “I can cannot give you what you need, girl”
Then she turned around and she took a bite, right outta my cheek

If all the world’s a stage then I want
More creative control
Too many people playing vultures
Hovering way to low
If only I were dead
Then I wouldn’t feel so miscast in my role
Close the show while I still have a soul
Close the show while I still have a soul

Abodeo-bo-bo-bo

oh, the character's I've seen
to be enjoyed
on mother nature's silver screen
but I am afraid that's not good enough for me
I cannot help but wanna intervene.
